All adults are invited to get involved in Adult Formation at Holy Comforter. We provide various opportunities for adults of all ages to learn and grow in their journeys of faith together. Please contact the church office for upcoming Christian Formation classes.
The Path: A Journey Through The Bible
SUNDAYS at 9:30 A.M
Continuing through May, we are studying the story of salvation together, using Forward Movement’s bestselling book, The Path: A Journey Through the Bible. The Path makes the Bible accessible to everyone from adolescents to older adults. See what Forward Movement says about it: “Walk in the footsteps of faithful men and women who have done their best to follow God’s call. The Path is the story of the Bible, excerpted from the New Revised Standard Version so that it is clear and easy to read. Follow the path of God’s love all the way from the beginning to the end, from Adam’s creation to John’s revelation.” “With The Path as our guide and some input from Rhonda and other leaders, we will journey through the whole Bible together, with no danger of getting bogged down in the “begats.” Copies are $20.00, payable by check or cash to Holy Comforter with “Adult formation” on the memo line or noted on your cash envelope. Let Rhonda know you have paid and she will give you a copy. If the cost is a barrier, just let her know that and she’ll comp you a book.

On Wednesday evenings in Lent this year, we’re doing something new, fun, and different, and also deeply traditional and familiar to some of you: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for everyone! Holy Comforter is fortunate to share in a brand-new grant from the Lilly Endowment to our diocese to encourage intergenerational worship. “Worship” is broadly defined in this grant, and Holy Comforter is taking this opportunity to bring the worshipful Montessori practice of catechesis to our entire congregation. This intergenerational event is for everyone: children, teens, and adults of all ages. Have you ever wondered what Jesus was saying in his parables? Have you wanted to reach a deeper understanding of our ancient worship traditions? Have you wondered what the children of Holy Comforter learn in their Sunday School time? Come to this intergenerational formation series! Experienced guest catechists will lead us through some of the works (stories) our children explore in the atrium (classrooms) on Sunday mornings. Everyone, of every age, will have the chance to wonder together and to learn from each other. Together, we will worship, we will wonder, we will smile, and we will learn—who knows what? Come and see! Bring your family, bring a friend. It will be a joy to see you there.
