Holy Comforter's Vestry
Holy Comforter’s Vestry meets the third Monday of each month, at 7:00 PM in the Conference Room across from the Parlor. Each meeting includes presentations from the heads of the many different divisions represented by vestry members, and is attended by the Rector and program staff. Meetings are led by the Senior Warden. Visitors and members are always welcome to attend any meeting, excepting, of course, executive sessions of the vestry.
Holy Comforter is blessed with an active, working vestry. It is made up of 12 dedicated parishioners who give generously of their time and talent. The demographics of the parish are well represented.

Vestry Eligibility
Each second Sunday of November after a Preferential Primary and during the parish Annual Meeting, the congregation of Holy Comforter elects 4 Vestry members to serve a three-year term.
Eligible to Serve: Lay persons 16 years of age or over who are “enrolled confirmed communicants in good standing”. A “communicant in good standing” is defined as a member confirmed or received by a bishop of the Episcopal Church (or, in the case of confirmed members, confirmed by a bishop of a church in communion with the Episcopal Church) who regularly participates in the public worship of the Church and has, unless for good cause prevented, received Holy Communion at least three times during the preceding year.
Ineligible to Serve: Those presently serving on the Vestry or those who have not completed the mandatory one year interval for re-election.
Eligible to Vote: all persons 16 years of age or over who are carried on the Parish Register as enrolled confirmed communicants in good standing are eligible to vote to elect Vestry members.
Duties of the Vestry
In cooperation with the Clergy, the Vestry:
• Promotes the spiritual welfare of the parish
• Develops and carries out programs
• Manages parish property and its financial resources
• Reports to the Bishop on the state of the parish
• Certifies candidates from the parish for ordination

• The Wardens, Clerk, and Treasurer
• Delegates to Diocesan Convention
• Members of regular and special committees
