Vacation Bible School 2006
“The Gospel Express Train” - A Huge Success

Vacation Bible School had the theme this year of The Gospel Express Train. Forty children from ages 10 months to 13 years attended.  Thirty-one teachers and 8 youth taught, played games, fed, or helped the children with crafts and music.  Ten members of our congregation donated food.

This year, the children in grades 2-6 went on a field trip to the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer on Tuesday.  They learned a lot about  trains and their importance to the history of our country. The pre-teen class made a video of VBS activities. They had Mr. Bill Vincent, Director of Alamance Historic Museum come and talk to them about the importance of trains to our city.  The younger children had a guest speaker, Mr. A.B. Chrismon, who worked for Southern Railroad for 43 years.

All in all, it was a wonderful experience for children and teachers.  Many thanks to all of you who helped us organize this year's Bible School.

Jan Kelly & Juli Hauser, Directors
