Ensuring Holy Comforter's Legacy in the Future: Soon after the first service in the new Holy Comforter sanctuary, the January 1912 edition of The Carolina Churchman published a report describing our “Beautiful Church and the splendid lot on which it stands.” Of Mr. and Mrs. Holt and their gift of the new sanctuary, the article said, “Long after they shall have been gathered home, it will be standing there in its stately and imposing proportions, witnessing to God and His truth, the symbol of Evangelical Truth and Apostolic Faith and Order." Nets For Life Inspiration Fund
At the 195th Convention of our diocese in January, Bishop
Michael Curry asked that each congregation run a campaign to
raise money for the
Nets for Life Inspiration Fund
administered by Episcopal Relief and Development, ERD. A few
facts for your information and prayers:
As a way to continue Holy Comforter's commitment to the
Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) we have signed on to the
Bishop's diocesan wide campaign.
Nets for Life
addresses 3 of the 8 Millennium Development Goals (#1
eradicate extreme poverty, #4 reduce child mortality and #5
improve maternal health).
